WORKING TOGETHER
- I’m a business looking to take my brand to the next level. What services do you provide?
We are design and branding specialists who work exclusively with entrepreneurs in the hair, beauty and wellness industries. We specialise in crafting innovative and head-turning brand strategy, print and digital campaigns, graphic design services and brand education for businesses who want to thrive in the marketplace through on-point (and on-trend) creative solutions. (Which is just a fancy way of saying we help beautiful brands to stand out from the crowd.)
- How can your services help me? What makes you so different from other branding agencies?
Those of us in the hair, beauty and wellness worlds know all too well that what’s on the outside counts just as much as what’s on the inside – and the same goes for your business. How you brand, market and position yourself is just as important as the creative work you do. And that’s where we come in. We help you to identify what sets you apart from your competitors and to find your niche in today’s competitive business world. We take a fresh, optimistic approach to your branding and marketing because we know that anything is possible for your business. (Yep, that’s how much we believe in you.)
- Why should I choose you over a larger agency?
Not to sound cheesy or anything, but we actually give a damn about your brand. Digital Bloom is a boutique collective that focuses on a select number of clients, meaning that our time is spent focusing on YOU. We don’t like to spread ourselves thin by taking on masses of clients or projects all at once, and we believe your project deserves all our attention and heart from start to finish, no matter the size. (Think: quality over quantity.) And because we are one of the only branding agencies in Australia who specialise in working exclusively with beautiful brands and minds in the hair, beauty and wellness industries, you know that your brand is in good (manicured) hands.
- I can outsource my design work for less than what you have quoted. Why should I go with your quote over a cheaper source?
As the old saying goes, ‘You get what you pay for.’ It’s true for discounted spray tans and fake crystals - and it’s true for cheap design and marketing work. We understand that all our services may not suit every budget and that’s why we’ve mindfully priced and divided our services into three categories - to provide accessible design and branding solutions to all brands in all stages of growth. But if you do choose to go with a cheaper quote, we advise you to do some research and ask questions first. Be aware of what professional graphic design and branding involve. Check that your ‘custom’ design has not been taken or borrowed from a generic clipart site. (Yes, this happens – way too often, in fact.) Think of it like this: Just because we own a pair of scissors, doesn’t make us hairdressers. Be smart about who you choose to work with; after all, this is your brand, your business - your livelihood - we’re talking about.
- Can I see some examples of your work?
You sure can! (In fact, we kinda insist on it.) You can check out our portfolio of work here and read (glowing) testimonials from happy clients here.
- I want to work with you, but I don’t live near you. Is that a problem?
Not at all! Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, we work with clients all over the world. We can meet and collaborate with you via Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, Whatsapp, video call, phone or any way that works for you. (Digitally speaking, of course.) Heck, if you want to put us on a plane and fly us to you, we’re also down for that. (#JustSaying) All you need to do is let us know where you’re located, and we'll make a plan. (Psst: Thanks for asking that, by the way – it’s our favourite question!)
- I’m a new client. What do I need to provide you with?
A BIG heck yes! Welcome beauty! As each brand is unique, you will; need to provide us with some background information on your brand, business, and service/product before we start your project.
Consider it a pre-date toolkit. Instead of walks at sunsets, we get to know your brand foundations, values, mission, goals and what makes YOU -- YOU!.
This information allows us to understand your business better and to build a tailored strategy that meets the scope, tone of voice and visual direction of your project.
As avid multi-taskers we'll be doing an initial assessment on your current branding across all media touchpoints for consistency and cohesion.
While we're mastering smokey eyes and sending you an email with all the required information and examples you need to supply before we commence working on your project.
- I’m nervous about sharing business information. What about my privacy?
At Digital Bloom, privacy isn’t just a little policy tacked to the bottom of our website - it's a HUGE deal to us. Any information you share is declared sensitive and is kept strictly confidential (unless you specify otherwise). When it comes to releasing personal information, we will often recommend that you only share via protected documents or limited-access cloud files. For more information on how we value and protect your data, check out our privacy policy.
- What files do I get, and how do you send them?
Thankfully, Dropbox doesn't rely on toner or foils, which means you will receive all relevant print and web files in your folder, all before your brows are tinted. (You're welcome) You will need to make a copy within one month post project through. (You know, space)
- HELP! I've lost my files! Can you resend them? (PLEASE)
We wish we could, but with all the Milano Blancs in our closets, we just don't have the space to keep copies of every (awesome) brand on file. *We do insist on backups of your copies for moments like these and wine.
Branding & Graphic Design Services
- What is a Sub-Mark?
Great question! Think of a Sub-mark as a smaller, and cuter version of your Logo. It's often used as a favicon or profile picture.
Sub-marks are especially helpful to brands with long business names. They are great at prroviding an eye-provoking and simple alternative to their main logo.
- I need a designer on a regular basis. Can you help me with that?
Absolutely! We have many clients we work with on a long-term, retainer basis. Book in a time to chat with us about the exciting projects you have coming up - we would love to get to know you and your business!
- How long does the design process take?
How long does it take to design a Gucci dress? Just like all creative endeavours, each project differs depending on requirements, goals, scope and deadlines. As a ballpark estimate though, a basic logo design can take anywhere from 3-5 weeks.
If you’d like a personalised timeline estimate for your proposed project, contact us directly and let’s make a time to chat.
- I’m in a HUGE rush and need this work done, like, yesterday. Can you help me?
We are always happy to help our clients wherever we can; however, we need to consider the scope and complexity – as well as realistic expectations and our workflow schedule – before taking on urgent projects.
If your project is urgent and requires the first artwork concept within 72 hours/3 working days, a rush loading fee of 30% (on top of your project’s total cost) will apply. This fee also applies to rush jobs done on weekends, public holidays and outside regular operating hours. Please note, our standard project commencement fee ($249) and the additional rush fee must be paid before the start of the expedited project.
- Um, this may be awkward, but what if I don’t like what you design?
We are passionate about delivering unique branding solutions that you'll fall head-over- heels in love with. For us, if it's not a "Hell yes!", it's an "Hmm, not yet.” That's why all our services come with two (2) rounds of revisions so that you can give us your honest feedback at every stage of the design process.
However, if you are at all unsatisfied with what we create for you, it’s essential that you get in touch immediately so we can discuss the issue and look at how it relates to the original, agreed-upon design brief.
- Will I own the copyright to my design?
Once the project has been deemed complete - including all accounts paid in full - all design files are transferred to you, and you will receive the rights for the commissioned work to use as you please. We do, however, reserve the right to showcase all client projects in our online portfolio, on social media and via any other sources of self-promotion when required, as per the terms and conditions outlined in our client agreement.
- Can you take care of printing too?
Although we are huge suckers for printed materials, we focus purely on design and marketing. We do, however, happen to know some pretty talented people in the printing business who we can recommend and refer you to. Just let us know, and we'll send you our list of VIP printing pros.
PAYMENT & BILLING
+ What’s your hourly rate?
We don’t believe in hourly rates – we leave those to high-priced lawyers and escorts. We would much rather provide a customised quote for your project, so you know exactly what to expect and when.
+ What are your payment terms?
We require a $249 non-refundable project commencement fee to be paid before scheduling a start date for all projects. The project balance must be paid in full before the final handover of project design files. Our payment terms are strictly seven (7) days from the date of issue stated on the invoice.
+ How do you accept payment?
We accept payment via electronic funds transfer and credit or debit card. Details will be provided to you when you choose your service.
+ Do you offer payment plans?
We understand the financial pressures of small business. (#CashFlowProbs anyone?) That’s why we offer flexible payment plans for projects over $500.00 with payment schedules outlined in your project proposal.
+ Do I need to sign a contract?
We believe in transparency, clear communication, and establishing realistic expectations with our clients from the get-go, which is why all Digital Bloom new clients - are required to sign a client agreement/terms and conditions prior to starting any project work, regardless of the scope, size or duration of engagement. (But don’t worry, we won’t ask for your first-born or your Hermés Birkin – both of which are priceless.)
+ I’m a charity/not for profit. Can you help us for free?
While we are all about changing the world for the better, we already work with a few select charities and are currently at capacity. sad face
+ One last question: What’s the secret to the perfect winged eyeliner?
Hmmm. We’re still trying to figure that one out for ourselves... sigh
